Souvenir
One of my favorite things to do on the Mississippi Gulf Coast is shop for souvenirs. I suppose it's because my grandmother's house was right behind a Gulf Coast souvenir store that enchanted me in all the ways shopping at the boutiques my mother shopped in. I still delight in tourist print beach bags and the smell of burnt toffee peanuts (a constant that I don't like to eat but love to smell). Some of the treasures I find include seashells in every way you can imagine, gag gifts, shot glasses with tiki motifs, beach towels, bandanas, and of course airbrush tees. Just get me a cart and a diet coke and leave me to shop. These things commemorate memories. Some of them are simply beautiful in some way to me, not particularly expensive but definitely make me smile.
With so many festive events that are easy to participate in my new home on the Gulf Coast, I am having fun creating some of my own designs that I would sell in my own Beverly Hills style souvenir shop. I use my new skills in graphic design in tandem with curated parts of my paintings. These items are all highly affordable and are also customizable. Just send me a note if you have an event coming up.
