Sour Ball Baccarat Balance
Sour Ball Baccarat Balance
Share
One of the largest pieces in The Four Cs collection, this piece celebrates Alexandra's love of hard candy and eye candy with sour balls, gemstones, and my rendering of a Baccarat Tiger.
Fun facts about the concepts building this piece:
* Background color is my favorite color lipstick from high school (Revlon Fuschia Fusion) and was spray painted oil base paint.
* Sour balls are the quintessential hard candy. They rule. They also have a weird shape that is hard to paint!
* At a friend's place where I spent quite a lot of time in my early LA years this Baccarat crystal tiger guarded the living atop a stack of designer photo books.
*This entire series used more paint than previous collections because I wanted the colors to be super vivid.
* While I knew this piece was nostalgia driven, it took a hard turn into 80s when I used an opalescent paint to outline the paper images on the canvas. I wanted the images to have a movement, and these are a real tip of the brush to Keith Haring.
* This is the first pop art collection I've done
