Whirlypops in Lalique Winged Figures Femmes Vase

The initial concept of this piece was that a very expensive very precious crystal vase would hold some very inexpensive candy on a stick like flowers. So I researched the most expensive Lalique vase ever purchased at auction and discovered Deux Figures Femmes, which fetched over $350,000 at auction. I loved the
art deco lines, and the feminine power of the winged women.

I became a whirly, pop connoisseur at a very early age, traveling from the Gulf coast to New Orleans for special birthday parties at Farrell’s and shopping afterwards in the candy shop which had whirly pops from the size of a quarter to the size of a tire, and I was allowed to take any of them that I wanted on my birthday.
